Engine options include a 5.7 L HEMI® V8 Engine with eTorque and a 3.6 L Pentastar® V6 Engine with eTorque. The eTorque Mild Hybrid System replaces the alternator with a battery-powered motor, creating even more power at a more efficient pace. Perhaps that is why this second engine helped earn the 2020 Ram 1500 its best-in-class standard V6 fuel economy. That’s a combined EPA rating of 23 mpg.
Comprehensive Tailgate
The rear end of the 2020 Ram 1500 features the available multifunction tailgate. This 60/40 split tailgate door swings open horizontally, like a car door, rather than the traditional vertically opening tailgate. This way, you can easily get in and out of your truck bed. Plus, the tailgate can still be dropped vertically if you want, providing you with more ways to load. The bed also offers an available Class-Exclusive RamBox® Cargo Management system, a built-in cargo box above the rear wheel, to hold odds and ends that would normally clutter your truck bed.
